Self-help, helping myself

I'm hoping to get very good at making and baking cookies quickly. Breakneck speeds. I got the idea from the muffins I just got into the oven in less than five minutes.

I'm writing this here to increase the likelihood that I follow through with my idea to be able to produce cookies so fast. If I get good at doing it quickly, maybe I'll do it more often.

Dustings of fragrant nuts and bark, glops of proteins and lipids, piles of inflammable and relatively simple chemicals. Making them cooperate in spite of their molecular structures, a ritualistic dance performed alone in a small room with fire. A sacrifice to me, the god of self-indulgence.

  1. Are you planning to make the same type of cookies repeatedly? If so, you can mix a large quantity of your dry ingredients beforehand in the correct proportions, sift/whisk thoroughly, and store batch-sized amounts in ziploc bags, thus getting an economy of scale on your side. That's what we'd do with the muffins at the Laughing Moon.

I suppose cookies are a lot more fun if you think of them as entities you're creating and then devouring for your own divine pleasure. I'm definitely going to try that next time.
